Kay Mather | Founder & CEO | SHRM-CP | PHR
Kay is a seasoned executive with decades of progressive human resources and business operations experience, successively supporting organizations of varying ownership groups, sizes and stages of growth, both domestically and internationally.
Kay’s experience spans a variety of industries, including publishing, manufacturing, technology, consulting, and clinical drug research. She also spent a decade in professional sports, which culminated in her position as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Bobcats Basketball, LLC, now the Charlotte Hornets.
As the founder of Blanchetta Firm, she focuses on delivering strategic and tactical solutions for clients, providing fractional executive services for organizations in transformation, and building and streamlining processes, workforces, and systems, all in support of the client’s business goals.

Throughout her career, Kay had direct insight and management of many areas of business operations – HR, finance, payroll, sales & marketing, legal, technology and business administration. This exposure afforded Kay opportunities to advise and support owners with their overall business strategy, partnering collaboratively with leaders to manage day-to-day operations and mentor employees as they advanced their skills and careers.
Having managed global workforce teams and processes, Kay has a unique ability to reach across organizations and bring separate groups with varying objectives and perspectives into alignment; work cohesively to drive change and move the business forward in support of the organization’s overall business goals.
She is enthusiastic about giving back to her community and profession, having served on various boards and committees throughout Charlotte and the Triangle Region. Kay is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Kay earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa. She is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte, Leadership Triangle, and a member of the Goodmon Fellowship.
Outside of work, Kay has run over a dozen half marathons and is an avid wine enthusiast, holding a Level 1 Wine Award and Level 2 Wine Award Distinction from Wine and Spirit Education Trust, a global provider of drinks education.
